Solvent Extraction Plants for High Oil Recovery
Mecha Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is a Solvent Extraction Plant Manufacturer in India, building oilseed extraction plants for the edible oil and agro processing industries. Our plants recover oil from oil bearing materials using a food grade solvent, with high oil recovery, low solvent loss, and controlled energy use. Each plant is designed around your raw material, capacity, and available space.
As a solvent extraction plant manufacturer based in Saharanpur and supplying across India and to export markets, we handle the full scope, from plant design and fabrication to installation, commissioning, and operator support. Whether you are setting up a new unit or upgrading an existing line, the plant is built for steady output, safe operation, and a low running cost per ton.
From oilseed preparation through extraction, desolventizing, and solvent recovery, the plant is built to keep solvent loss low and oil quality high. Contact Mecha Engineering Pvt. Ltd. for a plant configured to your feedstock and required capacity.
Features of Our Solvent Extraction Plant
- High Oil Recovery: Designed for efficient solvent circulation and contact, so more oil is recovered from the seed and the residual oil in the meal stays low.
- Low Solvent Loss: Vapour recovery and an efficient solvent recovery section keep solvent consumption and loss per ton of material low.
- Energy Efficient Operation: Heat recovery and automation reduce steam and power use, which lowers the running cost per ton.
- Safety Built In: Vapour recovery, nitrogen blanketing, and explosion proof components for safe handling of solvent.
- Customised and Scalable: Layout and capacity are set to suit your raw material, output, and available space, for both small and large lines.
- Stainless Steel Construction: Built with quality stainless steel for a long service life and reduced downtime.

How a Solvent Extraction Plant Works?
- Seed preparation: Oilseeds are cleaned, cracked, conditioned, and flaked or expanded so the solvent can reach the oil efficiently.
- Extraction: The prepared material moves through the extractor where food grade solvent washes out the oil, forming an oil and solvent mixture called miscella.
- Desolventizing: The de-oiled material passes through a desolventizer toaster, which removes and recovers the solvent and produces the meal.
- Distillation: The miscella is heated so the solvent separates from the oil, leaving crude oil ready for the next stage.
- Solvent recovery: Solvent vapours are condensed and returned to the process, which keeps solvent loss low and the operation economical.
Raw Materials and Applications
Our solvent extraction plants are used by the edible oil and agro processing industries to recover oil from a range of oil bearing materials:
- Oilseeds such as soybean, sunflower, groundnut, mustard, and cottonseed
- Rice bran and other by-products
- Pre-pressed oil cakes from expeller units
- Other oil bearing materials on request
We also build related equipment such as the Rotary Extractor, the Herbal Extraction Plant, and the Distillation Reactor.
Why Choose Mecha Engineering as Your Solvent Extraction Plant Manufacturer?
- Built to your feedstock: Each plant is engineered for your raw material, capacity, and site, not sold as a fixed design.
- Focus on running cost: Low solvent loss and energy use keep your cost per ton down.
- Turnkey scope: Design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning handled together.
- Quality build: Stainless steel construction and careful fabrication for a long service life.
- Supplied across India and for export: Competitive pricing with support for domestic and overseas clients.
Frequently Asked Questions About Solvent Extraction Plant
What is a solvent extraction plant?
A solvent extraction plant recovers oil from oilseeds and oil bearing materials using a food grade solvent such as hexane. It gives higher oil recovery than pressing alone and leaves a low residual oil in the meal.
Which raw materials can the plant process?
It handles oilseeds such as soybean, sunflower, groundnut, mustard, and cottonseed, along with rice bran and pre-pressed oil cakes. The plant is configured to suit the material.
What solvent is used?
Food grade hexane is the most common solvent because it is efficient and easy to recover. Other solvents can be considered on request.
What capacity do you offer?
We build plants to suit your required output in tons per day, for both small and large lines. Share your target capacity and feedstock and we will recommend a configuration.
Is the plant safe to operate?
Yes. The plant includes vapour recovery, nitrogen blanketing, and explosion proof components to handle the solvent safely.
Do you provide installation and after-sales support?
Yes. We handle design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, operator training, and ongoing service.
Do you supply solvent extraction plants outside India?
Yes. We supply across India and to export markets.
How is solvent extraction different from oil pressing?
Pressing squeezes oil out mechanically and leaves more oil in the cake, while solvent extraction washes out the remaining oil with a solvent, giving higher total recovery. The two are often used together.
