Verified Material Grade
SS 304 or SS 316 on every wetted part, backed by material test certificates, so the pump passes a dairy, food safety or pharmaceutical audit.
Mecha Engineering designs and builds stainless steel centrifugal pumps at its own works in Saharanpur, India, and supplies them to dairies, sugar estates, distilleries, breweries, food plants, pharmaceutical units and water treatment projects across Zimbabwe. Monoblock and coupled pumps for clean liquids, food grade transfer and chemical duty, sized to the flow and head your line actually needs.
Zimbabwe's processing plants run on centrifugal pumps. Juice, syrup and molasses at the sugar estates of Chiredzi, Triangle and Hippo Valley. Wash and spirit at the ethanol plants. Milk, cultured products and CIP return at the dairies in Harare, Bulawayo and the Midlands. Wort, beer and cleaning solutions at the breweries. Purified water and reactor charges in the pharmaceutical units of Harare. Process water, effluent and dosing lines at the mines, municipalities and treatment works. When one of those pumps fails the line waits, and a replacement that has to be imported takes weeks rather than days.
Buyers searching for a centrifugal pump manufacturer in Zimbabwe are usually choosing between an importing agent and the works that actually builds the pump. Mecha Engineering is the works. Every pump is built, assembled and run tested at our Saharanpur factory in India, sized to the liquid, flow, head and temperature on your duty sheet, and wired for a 415 V, 50 Hz three phase supply, which matches Zimbabwean site power.
These are the points a Zimbabwean maintenance or purchase head checks before opening a letter of credit, so we put them in writing.
SS 304 or SS 316 on every wetted part, backed by material test certificates, so the pump passes a dairy, food safety or pharmaceutical audit.
Flow, head, current draw, seal leakage and vibration are checked on our Saharanpur test bench and recorded in the test report.
Our engineers support installation, alignment and the first run at your Zimbabwe site, and back your maintenance team afterwards with drawings and a planned spares schedule.
You buy from the fabricator, not a dealer. No trading margin, and we quote ex works India as well as CIF Durban or CIF Beira so you can compare landed cost.
Every feature below is there to keep one of three things under control: your power bill, your downtime, or the purity of the liquid you are moving.
The impeller and volute are matched to your duty point, so the pump moves large volumes near its best efficiency point instead of wasting power across a throttled valve.
Few moving parts and a front openable casing on sanitary models. Impeller and seal can be reached without cutting pipework, which keeps a seal change to a short job.
Stainless steel casing, impeller and shaft sleeve stand up to hot water, CIP chemicals, juice, brine and mild acids that eat through cast iron pumps.
Carbon against ceramic or silicon carbide mechanical seals with EPDM or Viton elastomers, or PTFE gland packing, chosen to suit your liquid and temperature.
Polished wetted surfaces, TC or SMS dairy unions and drainable casings on sanitary models, so the pump cleans in place along with the rest of the line.
TEFC motors as standard, flameproof motors for solvent areas in pharma and chemical units, and VFD ready motors where flow needs to change by batch.
Six build types cover almost every transfer duty we see in Zimbabwean plants. Tell us the liquid and we will point you to the right one.
Pump and motor on one shaft for a compact footprint. The everyday choice for water, RO permeate, hot water and general process transfer.
Open impeller, polished SS 316 wetted parts and TC or SMS unions for milk, curd, cream, whey and CIP return in dairy and food plants.
SS 316 casing and impeller with a chemical duty seal for acids, alkalis, brine and solvents, with a flameproof motor where the area needs one.
Pump and motor on a common base frame with a flexible coupling, for heavier duty and continuous running where the motor must be changeable on its own.
Clears air from the suction line on its own, for tanker unloading, sump lifting and return lines where the pump sits above the liquid level.
Semi open impeller builds for water supply, irrigation, cooling towers and treated effluent, where some suspended solids reach the pump.

Straight answers to what Zimbabwean buyers ask before placing a pump order.
Mecha Engineering Pvt. Ltd. manufactures stainless steel centrifugal pumps at its own works in Village Meharbani, Behat, Saharanpur, India, and exports them to Zimbabwe. Pumps are designed, machined, assembled and run tested in the same factory and supplied to dairies, sugar estates, distilleries, breweries, pharmaceutical, chemical, food and water treatment plants across the country.
SS monoblock centrifugal pumps, sanitary dairy pumps with open impellers, chemical process pumps, coupled bare shaft pumps on a base frame, self priming pumps and water and effluent transfer pumps. Each is available in SS 304 or SS 316 wetted parts, with the impeller, seal and motor chosen to suit your liquid.
SS 304 suits water, process water, hot water and most food liquids. SS 316 carries molybdenum, which gives better resistance to chlorides, acids and CIP chemicals, so it is the usual choice for dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical duty. SS 316L is used where a pharmaceutical buyer asks for low carbon steel on purified water lines.
Standard monoblock pumps cover roughly 1 to 60 cubic metres per hour and delivery heads up to about 60 metres, with motors from 0.5 HP to 15 HP. Coupled designs go higher. We select the pump against your actual flow and system head so it runs near its best efficiency point rather than being oversized, which also keeps the power draw down.
Yes. Motors are supplied for a 415 V, 50 Hz three phase supply as standard, which matches Zimbabwean site power, with 230 V single phase available on the smaller pumps. Flameproof motors are fitted where the pump handles solvent or sits in a classified area, and we size the motor against your actual duty so it does not trip a loaded generator.
Yes. Our sanitary dairy pumps use an open impeller, polished SS 316 wetted parts, a food grade mechanical seal and TC or SMS unions, so they handle milk, cultured products, cream, whey and CIP solutions without damaging the product and clean in place with the rest of the line.
For clean water a carbon against ceramic seal with EPDM elastomers is usually enough. Hot liquids, abrasive liquids such as juice with fines, and chemical duty call for silicon carbide faces, with Viton elastomers for solvents and oils. Tell us the liquid and temperature and we specify the seal rather than leaving it to chance, because the seal is the part that decides how often you open the pump.
A spares kit is packed with every pump, covering the mechanical seal, O rings and gaskets, so the first service does not wait on a shipment. Impellers, shaft sleeves and further seal kits are held in stock at the works and resupplied by air freight where a line is down, or consolidated by sea with your next order where it is planned maintenance.
Standard pumps are ready in 3 to 5 weeks from order confirmation, and non-standard builds with flameproof motors or special MOC in 6 to 8 weeks. Allow a further 4 to 6 weeks for sea freight and inland haulage. Pumps crate small, so they consolidate easily with other equipment in a shared container, which is worth planning if you are ordering more than one item.
Price depends on the flow and head, the motor rating, SS 304 against SS 316 wetted parts, the seal type, the connection type and whether a flameproof motor is needed. Because these change the figure widely, we do not publish a single price. Send your liquid, flow and head and we quote ex works India and on a CIF Durban or CIF Beira basis so you can compare landed cost.
Share the liquid, flow, head and temperature for your line. Our engineering team returns a pump selection, specification sheet and a price on both an ex works and a CIF basis, so you can compare on paper rather than on promises.
