Controlled Feeding
A screw feeder meters your material into the grinding chamber at a steady rate, so the rotor is never starved or flooded.
Mecha Engineering builds air classifying mills at its works in Saharanpur, India, and exports them to maize and stockfeed millers, food and beverage plants, mineral processors and pharmaceutical units across Zimbabwe. Grinding and classification happen in one pass, so the powder leaves the mill at the fineness you set rather than one you sieve for afterwards.
Zimbabwe mills a great deal of powder. Harare, Bulawayo, Norton, Chegutu and Kadoma run maize meal, soya and stockfeed lines where the grind decides the grade. The food and beverage plants of Harare and Bulawayo handle sugar, starch, milk powder and seasoning blends. Mutare and Chipinge process tea, coffee and macadamia. The mining belt from Kwekwe and Zvishavane to Shurugwi and Hwange needs limestone, talc, chrome and barite powders. The pharmaceutical units in Harare grind actives and excipients to a documented particle size. Different materials, one requirement: a controlled top size, held shift after shift.
Buyers looking for an ACM grinding machine manufacturer in Zimbabwe are usually choosing between a local trader and the factory that actually builds the mill. Mecha Engineering is the factory. Every ACM grinding machine is fabricated, assembled and trial run at our Saharanpur works in India, configured to your material and your target fineness, then shipped to Zimbabwe with the GA drawing, trial report, spares list and erection support. The standard build runs on a 415 V, 50 Hz three phase supply, which matches Zimbabwean site power.
Impact grinding and air classification sit inside one housing. That is the whole idea behind the machine, and the reason the output stays uniform.
A screw feeder meters your material into the grinding chamber at a steady rate, so the rotor is never starved or flooded.
A high speed rotor fitted with hammers or pins breaks the material down by impact and shear against the liner.
The classifier wheel lets fine particles through and throws coarse ones back to the rotor for regrinding, which fixes the top size.
The air stream carries the fines to a cyclone and bag filter, where the powder drops out through a rotary airlock and the air leaves clean.
These are the points a plant head or purchase head in Zimbabwe checks before approving a grinding machine order, so we put them in writing.
Send a sample. We grind it, report the fineness and yield we reach, and size the machine on that result instead of on an assumption.
MS, SS 304 or SS 316 on contact parts, with material test certificates, so the machine passes a food, FSSAI or pharma audit.
Our engineers travel to Zimbabwe for erection, commissioning and classifier setting, train your operators, and back the maintenance team afterwards with drawings, video support and a planned spares schedule.
You buy from the fabricator, not a dealer. No trading margin, and any change to MOC, motor or dust collection is quoted against actual cost.
Every feature below is there to keep one of three things under control: your particle size, your power bill, or the dust in your production hall.
Grinding and separation happen in a single operation, so you reach a uniform fineness without a second sieving line behind the mill.
The classifier runs on a variable frequency drive. Raise the speed for a finer powder, drop it for a coarser one, without opening the machine.
A continuous air sweep removes grinding heat with the product, which suits spices, food ingredients and pharmaceutical actives that lose quality when they warm up.
A cyclone and bag filter keep the powder inside the system and the hall clean, which matters for both audits and operator safety.
Hardened beaters and replaceable liners stand up to abrasive materials such as calcium carbonate and minerals, and can be changed without stripping the machine.
A small footprint and quick opening access points keep cleaning and product changeover to a short job, which protects your production schedule.
Six builds cover almost every grinding duty we see in Zimbabwe plants. Tell us the material and we will point you to the right one.

Material not in the list? Share its name, moisture content and target fineness and we will confirm the build and the cooling arrangement before quoting.
Six steps from your first call to a mill running on your line. The same sequence applies whether you order one machine or a complete grinding section.
You share the material, moisture, bulk density, feed size and the fineness you need, along with photos of the existing line. A site visit is arranged where the project justifies it.
Send a sample of your material. We grind it, record the fineness and the throughput reached, and share the result before anything is quoted.
Our engineers fix the model, rotor, classifier, MOC and dust collection for that result, and send a specification sheet with a GA drawing and price for approval.
Housing, rotor, classifier and ducting are fabricated and finished at our Saharanpur works, then assembled with the approved motors and panel.
The complete system is run at the works for vibration, current draw and air balance, the readings go into the trial report, and the machine is then packed for container shipment with its spares kit.
Our engineers travel for erection and commissioning, set the classifier against your target fineness and train your operators. Spares are resupplied afterwards by air or sea freight.

Straight answers to what Zimbabwe buyers ask before placing a grinding machine order.
Mecha Engineering Pvt. Ltd. manufactures ACM grinding machines, also called air classifying mills, at its works in Village Meharbani, Behat, Saharanpur, India, and exports them to Zimbabwe. Machines are designed, fabricated, assembled and trial run in that factory before shipment, and are supplied to maize millers, stockfeed and food plants, mineral processors and pharmaceutical units from Harare and Bulawayo to Mutare, Gweru and Kwekwe.
Material is fed into the grinding chamber by a screw feeder and broken down by a high speed rotor fitted with hammers or pins. A built in dynamic classifier lets fine particles pass to the outlet and throws coarse particles back to the rotor for regrinding. The fines travel with the air stream into a cyclone and bag filter, where the powder is collected and the air leaves clean.
Our ACM mills work in a range of roughly 10 to 150 microns, and the figure is set by the classifier speed and the air flow rather than by changing a screen. Because the classifier runs on a variable frequency drive, the operator can move within that range from the panel. Share your target particle size and we will confirm it on a sample trial.
Spices such as turmeric, chilli, pepper, coriander and cumin, food products such as sugar, starch, protein powders and flours, pharmaceutical actives and excipients, and chemicals and minerals such as pigments, calcium carbonate, PVC and resin powders. It also handles heat sensitive and fibrous materials that need a fine, controlled result.
Yes. The continuous air sweep through the mill carries grinding heat away with the powder, which is why the method is called cool grinding. That protects colour, aroma and volatile oil in spices and keeps heat sensitive food and pharmaceutical products within specification. For fatty, waxy or very delicate products we supply a chilled air or liquid nitrogen cryogenic circuit.
Contact parts are built in MS, SS 304 or SS 316 depending on the product and the industry. Stainless steel with a polished finish is used for food, nutraceutical and pharma duty, while MS with hardened grinding elements suits minerals, fillers and industrial chemicals.
A pulveriser or multi mill sets the particle size with a screen, so the output carries a wider spread and usually needs sieving afterwards. An ACM uses a dynamic air classifier instead of a screen, so oversize particles are returned for regrinding and the powder leaves at a controlled top size in one pass. That matters when a specification names a micron figure rather than a mesh.
Yes. The standard supply includes a cyclone, a bag filter and a rotary airlock valve, so the powder stays inside the system and the production hall stays clean. High efficiency filter media, explosion vents and a nitrogen inert loop are available where the material or the area classification calls for them.
Yes, and we prefer it. Send a sample of your material with the fineness you are targeting. We grind it, record the particle size and the throughput reached and share the result, then size the machine on that trial rather than on an assumption about your product.
Price depends on the capacity, the fineness you need, MS against SS 304 or SS 316 contact parts, the dust collection arrangement, the cooling circuit and whether flameproof motors or a PLC panel are required, and then on freight and duty. We quote ex works India and on a CIF Durban or CIF Beira basis so you can compare landed cost. Send your material and target fineness and a specification sheet with price follows the sample trial.
Yes. Our engineers travel to Zimbabwe for erection, commissioning, classifier setting and operator training, and back your maintenance team afterwards with drawings, video support and a planned spares schedule. Beaters, liners, classifier wheels, filter bags and gaskets are packed with the machine and resupplied by air or sea freight as you need them.
Share the material you grind, its moisture and the fineness you need. Our Saharanpur engineering team returns a trial result, a machine selection, a specification sheet and a price so you can compare on paper rather than on promises.
